For-Tomorrow Archive – Josh Goot and Who Am Eye, 2008.

Retaining Who Am Eye’s familiar monochromatic colour template, the ‘And If You Save Yourself’ collection is inspired by debt and death; the looming recession and grunge forefather, Kurt Cobain.

This is a collection of staple items for the androgynous and those seeking timeless and effortless pieces for their wardrobe. A melange of black, grey and charcoal that intentionally references the doom and gloom of recession and a rockstar’s fall from grace.

Shown as part of the Independent Runway show on Friday 20th March 2009.

We had a chat to Johnny recently from WhoAmEye and word is that they’ll be showing this collection at LMFF (L’Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival) as part of the Independent Runway on Friday March 20th.

For-Tomorrow will be covering behind the scenes at all the male shows so stay tuned from the 15th – 22nd of March.

Referencing street gangs and New York’s 1980’s underground scene as inspirations, Who Am Eye’s latest collection echoes images of Walter Hills’s 1979 cult classic film e Warriors, an urban fable of freedom, violence and rebellion against authority set in a imaginary yet familiar world.

Entitled ‘Chaos Never Died’ themes of youth, war and rebellion are recurrent throughout the clothes to create a tough and consistent collection of highly wearable statement, street pieces.

Dark colours and loose silhouettes create an androgynous, almost uniform, aesthetic for the collection which is 100% Australian made and features a variety of unisex designs.
