Devoa Lookbook – Summer 2012 (Northern Hemisphere)
From the new year For-Tomorrow will be carrying Daisuke Nishida’s Japanese label Devoa. See video here.
Daisuke aims to understand natural human body movements. As a former athlete and medical instructor he constructs his patterns with movement of skin, muscle and frame in mind, naturally evolving the clothes to perfection.
Japanese paper (washi) mixed with cotton and jersey, mixed linen with ramie and extremely fine knitted wool round out this seasons materials.
“The name is a derivation of the Spanish word “devota”, which is similar in meaning to “devotion”. Daisuke chose this because our collections come from the heart.
The aesthetic of Devoa is clean and border less, the intricate details and complex construction are obtained by working very closely with trusted small factories and artisans in Japan.
