Zambesi (Runway + Detailed shots)- Spring/Summer 2010/11 @ Rosemount Australian Fashion Week

3 May 2010 | 3 Comments

The Zambesi show opened with a distorted image from the perspective of a person driving along a deserted road at night, while ominous and distorted music began to play. The pieces in the collection were constructed with neutral colours, with plenty of blacks, greys and whites. Many of them were drapey and whimsical, and at times were heavily layered with other pieces which were more tailored and traditionally structured. The female models wore headpieces resembling helmets made from wire, while the men were either dressed in feminine black sunhats or had their hair greased back in a way that was almost reminiscent of an underworld. All this contributed to creating a dark –and even foreboding at times—mood, progressing subtlety towards the end to one which was more romantic and otherworldly.
